The Zone Retreat

A vision was given to the co-founder of the Zone Foundation, Brian Baer, in 2022. The story began with Brian, an avid hunter, looking for hunting land in North Alabama. As he was looking up the minimum acreage needed per hunter and looking at the high cost of land, the Holy Spirit spoke. “You are looking for land for the wrong reasons”, He said. This occured at 8:30pm on a Sunday evening.
 

Over the course of the next four hours, the spirit led Brian on an idea-filled, passion-driven journey that included pages and pages of notes, sketches and plans for a Zone Retreat like none other! The premise of the Zone Retreat is to secure at least 500-1000 acres of land in North Alabama. On that land, a lodge would be built that could sleep up to 12 people or 6-8 families (depending on the size of the family) with individual suites.

The Zone Retreat property would include incredible gardens, walking trails and outdoor spaces for reflecting, renewing and reconnecting with God, spouses and family. Activities would include hunting, fishing, canoeing, gardening and more.

Building Authentic

Men Part of the Zone Retreat is an opportunity is for men to learn, bond, teach and experience God’s creation. Hunting, fishing, outdoorsmenship, hiking or just being outside alone with God will be available. For those who don’t or can’t do those activities, a full array of books, music, documentaries, chess and other pastimes will be found at the Zone Retreat.

Professional Staff A world class experience can only be made possible with the best and most experienced staff. Part of the original vision was the inclusion of “house managers”. The house managers ideally would be a husband and wife team who lived permanently at the resort. Their expertise would be gourmet cooking, hosting, guide services, game/fish cleaning and preparation, gardening and maintenance. The property will be professionally and perfectly operated year round.

Guest Retreat Leaders

Depending on the group visiting the Zone Retreat, paid & unpaid retreat leaders will be invited to speak, teach, counsel, lead worship, baptize and fellowship. Retreat themes will include men’s, women’s, families, teens, business and churches.
